چکیده
Background: Nerve recovery after a complex trauma is affected by many factors and poorly vascularized bed often the cause of failure perineural scar. Many techniques have been devised to avoid this problem possibility transfer nerve with surrounding viable sliding tissue could help in purpose; Methods: We performed an anatomic study on 8 injected specimens investigate raise medial sural artery perforator (MSAP) flap including within its sheath; Results: In specimens, visible direct vascularization was present 57% legs (8 out 14). 43% vascular network fascia layer. There were no anomalies. one patient MSAP raised proximal tibial peroneal components deep sheath. The component anastomized independently common digital 4th 5th fingers collateral for ulnar aspect 5th. After 9 months, showed improving function both clinically electromyographically without any due adherence; Conclusions: Given still debated advantage graft versus non-vascularized one, be useful those cases composite wounds lesions acting as “nerve through flap”, order reduce adherence gliding tissue.

Surgical anatomy of the medial sural artery perforator flap.
BACKGROUND The medial sural (medial gastrocnemius) perforator flap is a thin flap with a long pedicle. It has tremendous potential for applications in a variety of soft-tissue defects. We aimed to further clarify the vascular anatomy of the medial sural region and establish a safe approach for elevation of this flap. METHODS Ten fresh cadaveric lower limbs were injected and used in this study...

BACKGROUND Reconstruction of upper extremity deformities continues to be a challenge to the reconstructive surgeon. Various loco regional, distant and free flaps are available for reconstruction. However, each has its own set of advantages and disadvantages. Of the commonly performed local flaps, radial artery forearm flap, and the posterior interosseus artery flap stand out prominently. Rec...

Further, a sufficient understanding of the wound characteristics, donor and recipient vessels, and design for insetting should precede the surgery. Lastly, the skin graft over the muscle flap is less durable than the fasciocutaneous flap and tends to form a callus. To prevent this complication, a p...
متن کاملVersatility of the Medial Sural Artery Perforator Flap: Experience with 200 Consecutive Cases.
Introduction The medial sural artery perforator (MSAP) flap was first described in 2001. Having constant anatomy, long pedicle, and pliable soft tissue, the flap was shown to be a good alternative option for soft tissue reconstruction. The aim of this study was to report our experience with this flap for reconstruction throughout the body, highlighting its potentially increasing role as a workh...
متن کاملTounge Reconstruction with Medial Sural Artery Perforator Flap: A Case Report
There are numerous perforator flaps reported in the literature for head and neck reconstruction. We are presenting a case report of squamous cell carcinoma of Tongue which was operated by hemi glossectomy, modified radical neck dissection and reconstruction was done with medial sural artery perforator flap (MSAP). Preoperatively handheld Doppler was used to identify the perforator. The size of ...
